John R. Durant

About the Author

John Durant has led product management, engineering, security, cloud/SaaS operations, and IT teams for many brands at several companies across three decades. A business-minded technologist, Mr. Durant applies his rich management and executive leadership experience in aligning innovation and operational teams to best serve the needs of customers, investors, and operators. Known for his infectious energy and strong sense of mission, Mr. Durant empowers and inspires his teams to build better products, strengthen foundations, and innovate in meaningful ways.

Mr. Durant is currently the President of Hyper Networks, an MSP in the Las Vegas area. Previously, he was the EVP and CTO at Kaseya where he led the integration of more than 20 products as part of more than 9 acquisition events. He was also the SVP and CTO at Code42 with responsibilities for cloud operations, IT, business systems, product management, and engineering. Prior to Code42, Mr. Durant worked as an executive for a venture research firm, where he used a lean startup approach and predictive analytics to develop new business entities in technology and healthcare. Earlier, Mr. Durant led software development efforts at Microsoft for nearly eight years and co-authored the popular technical book, “XML Programming Bible, 3rd Edition.”

Mr. Durant holds a Bachelor of Arts in French Literature and Linguistics from Brigham Young University, a Master of Arts in French Literature from Brigham Young University and a Master of Arts from the University of Minnesota.
